Who Can Apply for the HEC Law Admission Test?
Eligible Candidates:
- Students who have completed their Higher Secondary School Certificate (HSSC) or an equivalent qualification.
- Students who have appeared in the final examination of HSSC or an equivalent qualification are awaiting their results.
Important Information:
- Students can easily apply for LAT by visiting the HEC website (http://etc.hec.gov.pk).
- Registered applicants can download their Roll Number Slips from the HEC website (http://etc.hec.gov.pk) one week before the examination.
Communication:
- Registered candidates will receive email/SMS notifications about the examination date, time, and venue. Please provide a valid email address and mobile number during the online application process.
On Examination Day:
- You must bring a print-out of your Roll Number Slip and original CNIC to enter the Examination Centre.
How to Register for the HEC Law Admission Test LAT 2024
Online Registration:
- Visit the HEC registration portal at http://etc.hec.gov.pk to complete your registration.
- If you encounter any issues during registration, you can seek help at onlinehelp.hec.gov.pk, visit the HEC Secretariat, or contact HEC regional offices for any assistance.
Application Process:
- The application process consists of two steps. Firstly, complete your profile using the “My Profile” section, and then complete your application using the “Law Admission Test” link in the left-hand sidebar of the online portal. Secondly, apply for the test.
- Only applications marked as SUBMITTED will be considered for the LAT. Applications in SAVE or INCOMPLETE status will not be processed.
Payment Instructions:
- A test fee of Rs. 1800/- must be paid via 1Link 1Bill invoice through participating banks, ATMs, Internet Banking, Mobile Banking, Easypaisa, JazzCash, or U-Paisa.
- To pay, select the 1Link Bill Invoice payment option, open/sign into your mobile banking app, and click on Bill Payment Services. Enter the consumer number provided by the ETC portal and complete the payment.
- After payment, click “Verify Online Payment” on the ETC Dashboard. Ensure that all queries or complaints are resolved before the registration portal closes.
Important Notes:

- The test fee is non-refundable and non-transferable.
- The system will not accept registrations beyond the deadline due to logistical and security reasons.
- The last date for online registration is March 16, 2024.
